【A Response to Jane Huang’s Claims】

Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche teachings on All-Otr.org January 27, 2019 ·    Rinpoche wanted this to be passed on from recent events:   “There is something I want to say. Please record it, write it down in all the languages, and put it up on the internet. Pass it on.   At the beginning of this drupchen here in Bodhgaya, I made one point clear to you: that Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche is surrounded by many female students and attendants from all over the world. They call themselves his students and some give themselves other lofty titles which, I said, could become the source of big problems. I asked the practitioners taking part in this Tukdrup Barche Kunsel drupchen to direct their practice to avert that kind of obstacle, because if it were to arise, it would harm the Dharma. But we can see now that the obstacle has not been cleared.   On 24 January 2019, a Taiwanese woman called Jane, who claims to be a student of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, started to spread s...

Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche Responds to False Report by Mirror Weekly

Image
Today, I would like to address the monasteries, Buddhist institutes, and retreat centers located in Tibet and abroad, as well as the faithful followers of the First and Second Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoches—especially those who are connected with me personally, either in worldly matters or through the Dharma. Some of you may already be aware of a recent incident. A woman from Taiwan has claimed: “He sent me to the Karmapa to use my beauty to seduce him.” This was reported in a weekly publication in Taiwan. This woman has been coming to see me for several years. She is one among many different types of followers who come here. She is neither a particularly close student nor someone working under my direct guidance. A few years ago, she asked me, “Can I go to pay respects to the Karmapa?” I said, “Of course you can.” This does not only apply to the Karmapa—whenever someone tells me they wish to go and visit other Khenpos or spiritual teachers, I naturally do not stop them. On the contrary, ...

The 2013 Bodhgaya Bombings, the Karmapa’s Security, and Jane Huang’s Claims

Image
On July 7, 2013, ten bombs exploded in and around the Mahabodhi Temple complex in Bodhgaya, India—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Five people, including two Buddhist monks, were injured in the blasts. Bomb squads also defused three additional devices at various locations throughout Gaya. Three bombs also went off at the Tergar Monastery, a Tibetan Buddhist center. One of the bombs had been placed behind the door of a classroom where children usually study Buddhism. The explosion damaged windows and doors, but fortunately, no one was injured, as the children were on holiday at the time. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodh_Gaya_bombings In the early morning of July 7, 2013, in addition to the bombings around the Mahabodhi Temple, three explosions also occurred at Tergar Monastery in Bodhgaya. The attacks were later confirmed to have been carried out by the Indian Mujahideen. Every time the Karmapa visits Bodhgaya—to preside over the Kagyu Monlam, teach Buddhism, or meet with followers—the...

Image
Updated on June 15, 2025 In Wu Hang Yee’s allegations concerning her purported relationship with the Karmapa, communication records via Line and Skype played a central role. She built a series of narratives around these platforms, claiming that the conversations served as key evidence of her alleged involvement with the Karmapa. Wu identified several accounts—specifically, three Skype accounts and one Line account—which she asserted belonged to him. Along with Vikki Han and Jane Huang, Wu used these accounts to support their claims of having communicated with the Karmapa. 1. Authentic or Fake? Karmapa’s LINE Accounts The Karmapa’s Line Account In early January 2019, Taiwan’s Mirror Media reported on Jane Huang’s allegations against the Karmapa. Shortly afterward, on January 22, 2019, the Karmapa’s Chinese translator, Venerable Miaorong, immediately contacted him via Line to ask how they should refer to this “Ms. H” in public statements. The Karmapa replied: “ I think we shouldn’t iss...
